Rugby Nutrition

A good nutrition strategy is key for success

Nutrition, along with training and recovery, determines success in any sport.

Sports nutrition is the science of identifiying nutrients necessary for health, growth and athletic performance. It tells us what sorts of foods and fluids should be consumed, in what amounts, and when. By applying a sound nutrition strategy that is specific to rugby, athletes can maximise their capability and performance during training and competition.

Rugby places unique and extreme demands on the human body. This requires a specialised approach to ensure the body is equipped to perform and excel.

There are two elements of rugby nutrition science; one a foundation, and the other a leap forward.

  • Nutrient dietary intake
  • Performance nutrition supplementation
