When is the best time to use RugbyMax?

For RugbyMax the best time to take it is at the end of your breakfast or immediately after training.  Many people find that it is easier to remember to take products like RugbyMax if they are taken at a fixed point in the day so they become part of a routine.  After breakfast is the ideal time in this respect if you are not on a training day.

Should I use RugbyMax only on the days that I train?

RugbyMax is designed to be taken once a day.  No more no less.  You should use it on your recovery days too. RugbyMax is most effective if you take it every day. After a tough game or session, it can take a few days for your muscles to recover fully.

This means that your body is busy repairing the damage to muscles even when you're at home in bed. So, you need to feed your body extra support and performance nutrients on both training and recovery days.

How will I know RugbyMax is working for me?

When you start taking RugbyMax, set yourself some goals that you can measure. If you have a coach you can do this together.  There are many different approaches.  Fitness can be measured with a bleep test. Strength can be measured with a deadlift test. There are also tests for reaction and speed. You can measure all these things again 6 weeks later and if you've trained and taken RugbyMax properly, you'll be pretty pleased with the results.  Write to us and let us know how you got on.

How much protein do I need?

Rugby athletes need between 1.2g and 1.7g of protein per kilogram of body weight. Everyone can get the right amount from a normal diet, except in a few rare exceptions.

This reflects the advice of the world's leading athletic authorities, including the Australian Institute for Sport, and the RFU.

It is not usually necessary to take protein supplements unless you are certain you are not getting enough. It is beneficial to take protein with some low GI carbohydrate on board before and immediately after exercising.  You can do this with milk.
